Parent / Teacher Conferences

February 28, 2015

Hello Parents and Guardians,

It was nice to finally have a full week of school without any interruptions! I wanted to touch base about a few things...

First, due to the snow days, the DESE (dept of Education) has allowed school districts to push back MCAS dates if they so choose.  Be on the lookout for new dates from your child's classroom teacher.  In some cases dates will remain the same, but I do know that some of the test dates have been pushed back.

Secondly, I wanted to mention the upcoming parent / teacher conferences scheduled for March 11, 12, 13.  As you all know, I split my time between Ambrose and Lynch, which sometimes makes it challenging for me to attend all of my student's conferences.  I will do my best to get creative with my schedule during conference week in order to attend as many conferences as possible.  If I am unable to attend your conference, I am more than happy to schedule an alternate time to meet if you wish.  I will be in touch with you individually if I am unable to attend a scheduled time with your child's classroom teacher.  For some of my students, we have recently had our annual IEP meetings, or we are scheduled to meet within the next few weeks.  These meetings are actually more thorough than a twenty minute conference and I have found that it is often a good idea to count the IEP meeting as a conference time.  So, may I suggest that, if you have recently had or are scheduled to have a annual IEP meeting within the next month, it might be wise to not schedule a conference.  Of course, if you would still like to meet during conference time for any reason, please feel free to schedule.

As always, feel free to get in touch with me with any questions or concerns.  Have a super weekend!!

Patrick
